Often, some people will want to breed their wonderful boxer with a member of the terrier group. Another dog in this group that is like the boxer in many respects is a Boston Terrier. If one could, one should imagine a Boxer and a Boston terrier blended together. This may or may not be a good combination. Both of these dogs have similar health problems that they can be effected with. These include heart problems, and hip or leg problems. Overall this might be a good mix. Both dogs love to please and can be good family pets if trained well.

Considering boxer terrier dogs one would want to make sure that they do not get too hot, nor too cold. Humidity and heat problems should be as little as possible. Sometimes some Boston terriers may be considered a Boxer since these two breeds do have some similarities in their looks. Their temperament is also pretty much the same although some breeders and rescue groups are reluctant to place Boston Terriers with families with children. Some may mistakenly mistake a Boston Terrier for being one of the boxer terrier dogs when it is not true. Cropping of the Boston Terrier dogs tail is not necessary since they do typically have a very small tail already. Other similarities include coloring. Boxers do not come in any shades with black, but Boston Terriers do. If you mix the breeds in a litter to get boxer terrier dogs you may have one with a darker coat that would be black/white or a combination of other markings.

Look for boxer terrier dogs in local newspapers, online classifieds ads, bulletin boards or pets for sale web sites. You can often find the boxer terrier dogs on rescue or shelter sites as well. Your local pound or shelter may have some boxer terrier dogs for sale or know someone who does. This is a mixture of breeds like the Boston Terrier and the Boxer. Being careful when combining any breed to try to breed in or out traits can be dangerous for any resulting offspring. Enquire with reputable breeders or vets before doing any mix breeding.
